please help me!!! (lost away messages)

I'm so mad!! i had 3 pages of Away Messages.. and my moms bf had a BRIGHT idea to reformat my computer.. KNOWING that i was going to loose them.. and not telling me to back them up.. what should i do!?

Not possible. Nothing is just "saved" when you reformat a hard drive, unless you specifically back it up.

i hafta agree with mike herre, i mean how many times have u reformatted. may b u're talkin bout restore which is totally different den reformatt. restore jus takes u're comp back to an earlier saved date. reformatt jus kills everything on u're comp and puts in new stuff all over again...

no.. i did reformat it.. but lyk.. i backed stuff up.. and i thought i had everything.. but i didnt do my away messages bc last tym.. lyk.. i put aim on there.. and when i loaded it back up.. i still had it.. but lyk.. this tym.. i didnt.. so yeah. tootlez

umm... ok so u dint back it up... i dont know of n e way to get that info back unless u have all u're away messages on u're mind... u have to make new ones... dats the only choice u got. since u dint back it up, may b u can find the other back up u made earlier, or not. well in n e case the only way to get u're away messages back is to make new ones...

yep.. since i have AIM+... that AIM history Viewer thingy... it has tha main ones i used.. so i got 'em back!! hehe

Away messages are not saved when you saved your preferences. I believe Away Messages are stored in the registry, so you have to copy them from there.
