Batch SFV Creation

Post by Laban »

Does it support batchin? I don't want to install it in vain. I need a SFV maker program for my MP3 collection. I want to be able to just pick the root MP3 folder and then it would take care of everything automaticly.

so if my tree looks like this:

ROOT
album1
album2
album3

it would make a file called "00. Album1.sfv" and put it into the Album1 folder. Then go to the next and go on until it's done. I have over 500 albums I need to make SFVs of so doing it manually is not an option.

There are no files in the root dir, only folders. There are no subfolders in the folders, if there are multi disc albums they are named "blabla - disc 1" and "blabla - disc 2" and placed in the root. Is it possible to do it this way with this program?

hkSFV32 doesn't currently support batch SFV creation.

You should be able to get the next version to do what you're trying to do, but I don't yet know when it will be out.

Along the lines of batch sfv creation... I think it would be nice if when you're creating an sfv for a single file (filename.ext), the sfv is named filename.sfv. This would be handy when I want to make separate sfvs for several files in the same directory. This could be done either one-at-a-time or an additional right-click menu option 'Batch Create'

In the latest version of hkSFV there is support for recursive directories in both .SFV creation and verification. While this will not do exactly as you described - create an .SFV for each folder, it WILL create one .SFV for every file in every folder in the main directory.

Well I'm waiting for the multi directory processing feature. Is this project stalled by the way?

All of this could be solved with a COM interface....

I've got my own SFV/MD5 creation/verification program that will created the files in each sub directory, rather than one big file for everything..
