Why does it say "Edited x times...." only after some edits that I do to my posts?

If you edit it right away, it doesn't seem to say anything, but if you wait a while it does.

Actually, if you edit it before there are any replies in the thread, then you will not have the 'editted' tag placed at the end ... conversely, phpBB will place the 'editted' line if there are any posts after the one you editted in the thread.

An edit looks something like this :).

Now might be a good time to do some editing Mark. Then we can see what an edited post looks like.

There is actually a fairly large thread all about this on PHPBB's forums (I am too lazy currently to find it right now...).

There are a lot of large threads on popular topics on phpBB's forums. The same question will be asked in 20 different threads, with different answers in each! They need a whole fleet of moderators to go in there and clear out all the old dupe threads to make it easier to find the 'good' thread with the answers you need.
