Wasn't it a beer ad campaign (Miller Lite, Budweiser?)? The guy would come up to someone drinking the beer and say, "I love you man.." in an attempt to woo away the beer.

Harra, you are correct. It was an ad-campaign for Bud-Light.
He'd say - "I love you man" when those 2 dudes were fishing.
The other guy would be saying - "You're not gettin my Bud Light [Insert Name here]."
