Does that remove the ad and the space completely, or just the ad?

it doesnt remove it totally, it just leaves a big grey space where the Ads used to be..

Well...there would also be a number of other ways to get rid of the ad but not the space. For one, you could just block the server that the ad is on. The whole point of removing the ad is to remove the space so you have more room on your BL for the users. I think that the ad is better than just a blank space (if you have AIM 5) because those ads can get pretty funny sometimes (at least they were before I got AIM+).

IMO,just a blank space is better than an advertisement... i'm tryin to find a way to remove the space as well but no luck so far

you right the adds are some time fun to just look at but I would much rather have them over the grey area. Mostly I like having that space there for my buddy list

I FOUND ONE!!!!!

I just found a patch for AIM 5.2.3074 that removes the ad as well as the ad-space. Now, I have no reason at all to complain about not having AIM+ 3.0

When you (people) say you can live with the grey instead of the ad what do you do when you go to a website with banners? For me the reason I like the ad remove is to simply save space (ie the grey space must not be there).

I agree with Anthony,

Over the years I've gotten used to the presence of banner ads on websites and such. My main preference for ad removal is to regain that valuable real-estate that is stolen by ads that I'll never click on anyway (unless by accident...lol)
