I don't think this applies to the NFL, but some sports leagues the officals are hired by the home team... I am pretty sure this all has to do with the cost of flying the officals from one place to another/housing, and I don't think this is done with any of the top leagues of a sport but it is done all the time in the leagues one step down (MLS/A-Leauge MLB/Triple-A).
No, in the NFL there are no 'home' refs. All refs are assigned to games in the before the season and travel to the games and there is also a limit to how many times a certain ref can play w/ each team..I think its 2 or 3 times per season.

im sure they pay the refs, like it wasnt done with the oakland game last year and the superbowl, i dont believe the rams would actually lose to th patriots, it was fixed.Dice599 wrote:Talk about hostility..goddamn. And how do we 'cheat'...NE doesnt make the calls...I think (but I could be wrong)that job is left up to the officials. So what're you gonna say now? We pay the officials? Yea, that's exactly what we do.skudz wrote:no that was clearly a fumble, forget the rule, ur team cheats. just like in the last game this year against Miami. that last pass interference call again Miami CB? he didnt even touch that guy and they called it just so they would get closer to scoring. NE makes football not fun becuase they are cheaters.Dice599 wrote: We didn't 'cheat' the other team...thats the rule..i don't even agree w/ the rule..but thats the rule and it'll probly be changed soon. Talk about holding grudges.
