Big-O Software

Over the last few weeks as Plasma grew ever closer to reaching the fifth and final ranking level, it became pretty clear that something had to be done. It would be pretty boring if everyone reached the 5 dot level and had nowhere to go from there. We came up with two solutions: edit the current ranking requirements so that everyone has an opportunity to advance in rank, or add more dots and new ranks so that everyone can keep their current status and still have an opportunity to advance in rank.

The second option seemed like a lot more fun. It gives users with lower post counts an easier chance to advance in rank because the lower levels have the same lower post requirements with smaller gaps in between each rank. It also gives users with higher post counts more dots to earn, rather than taking dots away and making them harder to regain.

Ryan and I have always tweaked the rank titles every few months just to keep everything fun. With the addition of the new ranks, some of the old ranks have changed in name.

New Ranks:

Just Registered - 0 dots
Newbie - 1 dot
Addict - 2 dots
Fanatic - 3 dots
Veteran - 4 dots
Extreme Groupie - 5 dots
? - 6 dots
? - 7 dots
? - 8 dots

The ? rank titles will be revealed as Plasma ... I mean users reach them. The post requirements for the first 5 dots remain the same, although some of the titles have changed. The final 3 dots are brand new, and as with their names, their post requirements will be revealed as they are reached.

Just hit refresh and any changes you currently don't see should be fixed.

Hey the new dote knock me and Plasma down a rank. I was very proud of my extrem groupie I had earned.
Edit: also can you tell us the post counted need for all the ranks or atleast the ones so we can all tell how far we are from them

Although your rank title did change, the number of dots remained the same.

Newbie - 1 dot (I think 10)
Addict - 2 dots (30 I think forgot is was so long ago)
Fanatic - 3 dots (125 post)
Veteran - 4 dots (250 post
Extreme Groupie - 5 dots (500 post because only plasma there)
? - 6 dots (my guess would be 1000 because the last 3 ranks have been doubleing)
? - 7 dots (you guess is a good as mine)
? - 8 dots (same here)

I intend to one day past plasma as the leader with out cheating. Also I vow to get back my Extreme Groupie rating. My guess is I will put is off in the next 2 months.

Well, think about this: look how quickly you've gone up the ranks in the amount of time you've been posting on these boards. Over 250 posts in about five weeks? That's a lot. If you keep at that rate, you should get there in no time.

yeah but the next one going to take me awhile since I will not start off with such a big boost. Hell I had gotten over 30 post the first night I joined all from what is now know as THE BIG THREAD. Of corse when Mark and Ryan Relaise there next KICK BUTT programs I pretty sure I get a lot of post from that 2 (hell we all would)

yeah im kinda a slow poster b/c i post when i find something really necessary to post but i intend to be w/ the big ones some day

I bet the next rank will be 750, then 1000, then maybe 1500. I think 2000 seems a bit much...

well right now it up to plasma to make it. I will one day take the new lead but it proble be for hte 6 or 7th dot

that will be the day when plasma gets dethrowned(sp)
