Auto-minimize New Messages

Post by jason »

another ICQ-like feature would be to not have messages popup. simply auto-minimize and flash an icon in the tray when i have messages. that way, if i am in the middle of something important (such as, work) i dont have a message popping up to detract from my project. i can simply get to the message when i can.

thanks for the fine product, and best of luck.

jason.

I think that "auto-minimize while away" would be a useful spin on your idea.

The current AIM system either makes all messages pop up whether or not you are away, unless you check the "Hide windows while I'm away" option. However, with this option checked, the only way you could ever know if you got a new message would be to check the away message window for new IMs. I think it would be much more convenient to have new IMs automatically minimized, so you know exactly who messaged you when the messaged you, but you're not forced to deal with it if you're writing a paper or whatever.

Might be a good feature if it can be implemented.

Im all for this feature. I would love to have it and use it all the time! :D

Especially when I'm playing a multi-play game online.. or single play.. and i forget the away message.. or I forget the 'hide windows while away' button. They pop up and it ends up minimizing my game!! Then I either die, or the game crashes!

Please please please implement this feature!! :P

I think auto-minimize is great if you can do it - even while you are not away or idle, so IM's dont interrupt you...
