I believe he is correct. The early versions of AOL did have a chat logging feature. It was a hidden toolbar button if I remember correctly. They just disabled it completely in the newer versions.

AOL LOGGER

Post by *420*MoRpHeUs »

I've been listening to you guys go on about AOL logging of chats and instant messages...and how you said it was a hidden toolbar function. Well i used aol when i was 10 years old and was interested in programming an etc...and i found that there's a nice little logger in the toolbar that says
FILE|EDIT|PRINT|

Click File
Then click Log Manager
Then click Open Log
Then save your Log File
And the check the log Instant Message Box

I hope my answer helped...if i misunderstood  your question please tell me
YOU are the PROBLEM
I am the SOLUTION
