completely uninstall aim and aim+

is there a way to completely uninstall every single component of the two? i would like to do the cleanest reinstall possible.

Uninstall AIM+ first, then uninstall AIM. If you want, delete the directory that AIM was in. Then reinstall AIM, then AIM+.

Even after you uninstall AIM there will still be a plethra of registry entries left intact. These shouldn't mess anything up... but if you have free time to kill you can clean them out with a registry cleaner.

Delete this key and everything beneath it in the registry to get rid of AIM settings.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\America Online\AOL Instant Messenger (TM)
If you're running Windows NT/2000/XP, the temp files, buddy info, etc is stored here:
C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Aim
Win 9X/ME:
C:\Windows\AIM95 (not sure about this one)
