Half Life 2 To Appear At E3

Post by fuuucckkers »

Valve announced today (http://www.planethalflife.com) that the long-awaited Half-Life 2 will be appearing at E3, and will be released this year. The NDA for press is supposed to end on April 28th, and quite a few magazines are already hyping their scoops. Hopefully all the teen-angst types that show their superiority through decrying this as vaporware can now listen to their elders...

An article also confirms that Sierra will be publishing the game, but that Half-Life 2 will be shown at E3 in ATI's booth (that should pretty much squash those crazy rumors about Half-Life 2 being NVidia-only). They also quote Gabe Newell as saying, "After we finish the announcement process for Half-Life 2, we will provide an update on Team Fortress 2".

Half-Life was good, but I think Donkey-Kong was the best game ever. ;)

Donkey Kong sucks!

Mortal Kombat for Sega Genesis is the best game ever.

Ah, that was fun. Off topic, but fun :D.

Billy Madison was on USA a lot this week ... every time a new Adam Sandler movie comes out all the cable stations play his old movies.

Let's not get into the best game ever argument.

The proof is that Half-Life won more Game of the Year awards from multiple publications than any other game. Even PC Gamer called it the Best Game Ever Made. Yes, Mortal Kombat was good, and so was Donkey Kong, but for those consoles, the best games are:

Genesis: Street Fighter 2: Special Champion Edition
Super Nintendo: Super Metroid/The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

If you want to keep discussing it, make a new thread.

Heh... Well, things do get confusing when you're not communicating in realtime. ;)

I figured you'd have to get it, who hasn't seen "Billy Madison"? Heh heh.

Breif update:

According to Planet Half-Life, Half-Life 2 is currently looking at a release date of September 30, 2003. I have a feeling it will be pushed back until Christmastime to provide competition for the other two big releases this season (Halo-PC and DOOM III).

It's about time for Halo. But I've had enough of that game. Stupid Microsoft had to buy out the company before they released it, and ported it to Xbox. Now its going to be re-ported back to PC again. Stupid M$.
