DeadAIM No Longer Freeware

Post by Frank Grimes »

Just saw that Jim posted this article over at the DeadAIM forums:
Hello Users,

I am sorry to have to announce that JDennis.net has had to introduce a $1.50 download charge. Due to a vastly increasing userbase, traffic to our site has increased to around 9 gigabytes a day. A large proportion of this is forums traffic. As I'm sure users can imagine this amount of bandwidth is not cheap.

To allow us to continue to supply DeadAIM this cost must be offset. We do not believe that $1.50 is a very large amount. Obviously some users will not be happy with this but unfortunately there is no alternative due to lack of donations (no more than 3 a month).

I thank you for your continuing support.

That is pretty funny......

In that thread, ppl were talking about if they paid $1.50 for each ddl of DeadAIM, then he would have over 2 million dollars...what the don't know is that DeadAIM will get decreasingly popular becase it is no longer freeware and he wont make much money. We might start to see some users back at these boards again...

Tell them.. not us. Heh.. enough people complain on their forums..and he may just take away the payment option. (but highly doubtful)

As for reinstalling.. someone around here may be able to help you.
If anyone has the install lying around their computer.. could you maybe send it to 'The Sublime Chick'? Just to be nice.

I've already ran a search for DeadAIM and tried all the results that came up.. all of which point to his Website. There is no direct downloads from other Websites that I can tell.

The only other option is if someone saved the installation file...

edit:Also ran a search on the Kazaa network..and nothing.
