Seems like they are just being prudent and trying to avoid the mess over here back in December.

Ya sure... Even if Big-O did decide to start charging they wouldn't start until they had a version that was never freeware... People love to start rumors, that really are just stupid, and have no bearing.

If you have the most market share (for the entire life of the project) why would you rick that and start charging? Not as if that was not enough why would you charge if you #1 opponet started charging? "Dude you just got a larger market share".

Edit: I fogot a entire half of a sentence

Ya know how many times I wanted to post there? I haven't made an acct because I dont think its right and also I know that Timeless or some other AIM+ user will say exactly what I would have said (I said Timeless because he is a frequent (at least from what I saw in that charging thread)). Also, by the time I take to make an acct, register, etc., someone else would beat me to posting what I would have said (in most cases)...so yea.

I was just laughing half the time when ppl were bashing DeadAIM because those same ppl were bashing AIM+ and they were saying "I'm goin back to AIM+." Its just hilarious is all...

Ya... I like having a account just incase someone goes way off the limb... Some of the users seem quite polite towards Big-O-Software... And then you have..... The "others".

On my last post I flipped out about how high my post count was... And then realized it was only 3 total.

i have a limit to how much rumors I and trash talk I willing to take. When they start attacking Big-O or AIM+ I figure it time to really say something. I try to stay tasteful and not drop to there leaval

A lot of people from here are going over to the DeadAIM forums, and posting... Which is fine, but I would encourage you to not say any thing in a attacking or mean way. It makes us as a community look bad.

Sure you can say how you would never pay for DeadAIM, but calling the creators stupid and such is no way to go about this. Attacking their members (Even the ones they don't care for) is even more out of line.

I have never used DeadAIM for more then 30 mins and I doubt overall more then 2 hours, but I find it very rude for us to go over there and question their actions.

In short when you post over there don't post anything you would not have posted in the AIM+ 3.0 thread.

fRiEd2k3 (4:54:39 AM): Hello Are you there?

fRiEd2k3 (4:55:01 AM): JDennis.net are liars! Doing a WHOIS on the domain jdennis.net reveals the following;

Host name: www.jdennis.net
IP address: 134.225.60.5
whois whois.arin.net 134.225.60.5:
OrgName: Reading University
OrgID: READIN-1
Address: University of ReadingRG6-6AH
City:
StateProv:
PostalCode:
Country: GB
NetRange: 134.225.0.0 - 134.225.255.255

They are hosted on a university server (Reading University, where Jim Dennis is a student!) so they have $0 bandwidth costs, contrary to their reason for charging for DeadAIM downloads. Help spread the word!!!
