Open IM Hyperlinks in New Window

can you reshack aim so that hyperlinks open in new windows? i don't like having to open a new window before i open a link in an aim window.

That not a problem with AIM.. its in you internet explorer settings

Internet Options -> Advanced -> uncheck "Reuse windows for launching shorcuts"

Thanks J3utton! You don't know how much this helps me. It buged the heck out of me when I'm in forums. Then someone sends me a link to go to. I check it then it opens in the forum page. That marks all the topics read. It sucked really bad. I always forget that it opens in a current window.

yeahh its best just to right click and click on Open in New Window.

I normaly open another IE window right before I click on the link. That way it chooses a window that I am no using to look at a diffent web page on

true... thats what i do......

but that doesnt effect the links that are sent our over AIM..... i always just right click the link, select 'copy link to clipboard' then just open a window when i have time and paste the link....

unchecking that option that solved the 1st problem wont affect everything... i unchecked it because whenever i opened a link in aim it used a currently opened browser w/ stuff in it (like the prob insomica had). but when i click on linx they dont open in new windows... it just affects it when a prog launches a web page.

Yeah...I was gonna say that. It should only effect links launched from outside the web browser. I dunno if you can do it with links in an AIM window, but can you drag/drop them on a browser window?
