If there ever is a new AIM+, would you choose it over m_m, even if it does less, simply because 'it does what you need it to do' ??

I would have to see if first.

As long as it worked with m_m (as it should) I'm sure I would use it... Even if it was just for logging... Then I could honestly say I use AIM+...

Yes, I'm loyal to Big-O-Software, and always will be.

I would have to say yes. I have tried m_m and it won't work behind my corporate firewall. So even if I liked the features of m_m (which I can't answer in the affirmative or negative since I can't test it because I primarily use AIM at work), I couldn't use it.

That sucks... I have no doubt m_m will become king with all these stupid pay add-ons... I even think it would become king with no pay add-on (currently at least).

If the developers can find a way around corporate firewalls, then I'll be happy to give it a go. I tried it a month ago and it just wouldn't work

Since it is a proxy in it's self I'm sure that is the problem. Maybe they can later on open up their proxy settings so they can be changed.

hey now.... they released a new AIM beta (AIM 5.5.3501 Beta)

http://www.aim.com/get_aim/win/win_beta.adp

New features:
Live Video IM
Screen name linking

Interesting note: this beta seems to be incompatible with the latest version of DeadAIM.

well it wasnt stated explicitly, and knowing the recent state of these boards, we're likely to get some newbies taking the topic title the wrong way and thinking that it means "A new AIM+ version is out today".

This problem would be fairly easy for the developers of m_m to fix. Though I have yet to implement it in my own add-on, I'm sure it won't be as hard to do as a lot of the stuff I'm working on.
