Becuase it's an unofficial beta release. The site Axilla posted most likely just found the file while browsing the Winamp servers.. (or from BetaNews.com)

Anywhoo... there is another thread on this already, isn't there?
So it's nothing new.

this isnt the beta. this is the final. it was last compiled today. they might recompile it more later on, but this IS NOT a beta.

ok .. well maybe im wrong.

Whats so different about version 5 anyway?

Where the hell did version 4 go?

Is it so totally different that it didn't even deserve to be titled version 4??

Maybe they finally realized that version 3 sucks so much that the people demanded another version.. something like version 2.x .. but much better with more features! :D

Post some screen shots or something.. I wanna see. Damnit.

Geez... Maybe if I say this for 129th time your get it...

Winamp... Version... 2.... +... Winamp... Version... 3... =... Winamp... Version... 5...

2+3=5

The features of Winamp 2 & 3 are put together in this release...

The most obvious being video and free form skins.

Geez..

Sorry Kenny. You just happened to be the one I blew up at.

I got the beta of 5 on october 15th. The new release is a final. Support for old and new skins (you can use the classic skin). The new media library kicks ass.

I was in the middle of a post, went out for lunch and came back and saw Anthony's post...he saved me the effort of most of what i was going to say.
