WTF?

Alright, I guess my username says it all, but I don't get this AIM+ deal. I have aim 4.8, aim+ is already installed, when I click on the shortcut to aim+ it opens aim 4.8 and then there is nothing different, like aim+ isn't running I am confused. What do I do? How do I use aim+? I am expecting to get flamed for this, but thanks to anyone who helps.
