i'm really new to linux

also i just got a new hard drive, and the thing does not want to let me install windows 2000
i run the setup, it partitions, formats, and installs, but when it restarts it says, no operating system found, or crap like that

As far as I know it's part of every major Linux distro.

its not really an emulator, its just a few libraries that can run windows executables, which makes some windows software run faster on linux than windows.

i heard that wine isnt that great, and theres something better, like winex or something. dunno tho

http://vmware.com

It's the best one i know of.

Download the free version, then goto a "cracks" website and get the crack for it. (duh)

Then you can set it up on your linux box and install whatever (other) OS you want. :)

um, ok, vmware is a PC emulator. which makes the emulated pc run much slower than the real pc. also, vmware doesnt support 3d grafix. so if he wants to emulate any 3d windows app, hes out of luck
