Hey everyone, I registered my screen name when I downloaded AIM 3 years ago and I have always had my password saved because I knew I'd forget it, the thing is today I had to reboot my computer and I lost all my installed programs, I reinstalled AIM but cannot access my account because I do not remember the password, and the email address it is sent to if I forget it has expired, so I have no way of retrieving it!
How can i retrieve my password? Can I update the email address it would be sent to if I lose my password? And where on the aim website do I go to do this? If not are there any other ways I can get my password?
Please, please help me.
Thankyou
Rachel.
Can anybody help me? Please?

Time to break out the dictionary. Or.. you could download a "password cracking" program. They just try to connect on the screen name with a bunch of different passwords. Of course, 99.9% of them don't compensate for the Rate Limiting, which screws up the whole process.

how is it that you registered your screen name, and had an email, 3 years ago, that both expired?...
where did you go??
did you die and come back to life??
and why dont you just register a new screen name, unless you had buddys on that list.

Seeing as I nearly lost my oldest SN just last night I can see how it happened... I had the sudden urge to compare my current buddy list and one from (at least) 4 years ago... Forgot the PW (or rather didn't realized it fit the format of my current pw), and was suprised to find it was attached to a email address I still use (and in fact is my main email).
