DSL finally up and running.

I haven't had the internet for over a week.

-they sent the package
-installed verizon with cd.
-cd did a "error" which caused problems
-formated computer
-tried again with some computer nerd, still had issues
-tried to connect straight from box outside of house
-(still no connection)
-called verizon, they laughed at me
-made a appointment for them to come fix it
-they come a day early than scheduled
-tell me it will cost over 100 bucks to get the line fixed for dsl
-they say i can do it myself, so they give me the cable.
-i run around the house with a drill, making holes
-straight from box outside, i drill to my room, making new wall outlet
- hook dsl up, (it works)
-cleaned room for fact that there were cables, computer parts and tools EVERYWHERE.

The end.

$100? You sure the guy wasn't trying to make a quick buck?

he said that is what verizon will charge, he was the one that told us that we could do it ourselves, and he even gave us the cable, good cable, it's like 30 cents a foot, connection is real nice

my dsl comes through my phone line... not a cable... unless you mean from the modem to the computer... or if it is wired through your house.

this is the pic from the orginal set up for the line to go to the modem, this done at 12:47 at night, with a flashlight, phillips screw driver, and wire cutters, and some adapters.

it's from when i first got dsl, now, it is actually done right.

I have Verizon DSL too, glad I persuaded my parents to get rid of AOL. I'm never going to think about going back to dial-up.

that only means that you arent crazy. because you were stating the obvious. seriously who would like dial up, i'm sure if everyone in the world had the choice, they would choose anything other than dial up.
now i'm stating the obvious, don't ask why, it just had to be done.

ur saying:

Who would want to use dial-up?
Everyone would rather use anything thats NOT DSL.

thats what i understood as your statement. other than dsl dials up but @ higher frequencies (which im sure you didnt know), i dont see a similarity between those 2 lines.
