i think not... i got office 2003 for free
Outlook Express is free. It comes with windows.

Outlook requires you to buy MS office. I got my MS office 2003 for free though my school (other wise my collage pays all the fees on it and what not. They paid MS a good chunk of money for use to get all this stuff for free.

Also I think Rob just a MS hater and anything better than MS stuff. Personly I think IE is a very good browser it just very outdated compared to the other choices out there and it needs a massive update done to it so that it can catch up.

either you are full of BS, a dumbass, or you are blind. I have no idea how people seem to think that....

More on topic I figure I cover
primary browers: Firefox
Primary mail program : out look
Primary music player: itunes
Primary DVD player: Win DVD plat (yes it is legit came with my mobo)
Primary mpeg avi ect.: WMP 10 (yes WMP 10)

MS office programs and what they have cover me for those apps (like word and excel never really look at the others. One nice thing about Excel is you can force anything though Excel and get the answer you need) For doing hard core math stuff I perfer mathcad. A much much nice program in looks but then again I dont exept most people to fork out the cash for that program either

Alarm clock: Winamp 2.91 (vs 5 does not work right with my computer for some odd reason)

As for the browers I switch over to Firefox to try it out and I really like tab browersing. I miss some things from IE dealing with toolbars and some sites (for the sites I just got the IE exection to open up the page in IE) Personly I find firefox to be a much better browers over IE with some of the stuff it can do. I have never look at oprea though but I heard it pretty nice.

i didn't even know that winamp had a alarm clock.i have 5 with the ripper and burner which i think are a pretty good, their media library for 5 is outstanding for what i use it for. (mp3 player, burning whole cds- i don't download solo songs, usually the entire cd.)

Winamp doesnt I do it though scheduled Tasks. I would use winamp 5 but it libery keep and burner program kept giving me error message everytime winamp tried to start and since i like it for alarm clock I said screw it I am going to back to winamp 2.91 one that I know works. Only sucky part is I can not really use the TV feature on it any more.

That how I was doing it on my laptop as well. Winamp libary feature poor compared to iTunes and WMP10 libary.
Below is a screen shot of how I did it.

Now time to turn back on monitor number 2
