getting kicked off aim

i'm hooked to the interent through a LAN but my aim disconeects every 10 or 20 mins saying "my connection was interrupted". i've tried lots of versions of aim but they all do the same thing.
what can i do to fix this and not be continually disconnected?

is it just your aim or internet? try looking at power management for your network interface card (NIC) and see if "windows can power manage my card" is checked in the driver settings dialog in system control panel.

and you might not have a real good connection.
Like, maybe your running a proxy server or something instead of what you should be.
How is your network set up?

Go to set up before you sign on, then go to connections and configure your connection. Aim will set up based on your connection
