Choose what to log (IM vs. Chat)

I think it would be nice if we could choose to log just IM convo's or just chat convo's. This would be a good idea because chats are big and take up more memory then the IM convo's usually do.

I believe we should be able to choose which IM's and which Chat Room's to log and which to leave alone. Just use a search string, and if the string matches the name you entered, then it logs it. There should also be another feature, but just the opposite, for the ones who want to log all but those certain IM's and Chat's they dont want.

well, that search string idea sounds a lil complicated for the everyday use.
Instead, there should be something like a checkbox for logging on each IM window and Chatroom window... and you can set it so that it would be default on or off.

But who goes into random chats? I only go into chats with my group of friends wen we discuss somethig important, i dont go into random chats so why would deciding to log or not matter? just delete after.

Well if u were to choose which to log, it might be a better idea just to seperate them from the IM logs instead of making manual choose to log or not, i may forget to log an important convo.
