Okay, don't want to bitch... but the fact is that it hasn't happen shit with hkSFV for ages. The page is down due to unfixed SQL or host errors, the forum is buggy, the application have loads of bugs, ppl are putting bugs in their sigs, bugs are reported repeatedly, and whines are everywhere

So Dear hkSFV coders; unless you've figured it out, there a reason as to why people are still visiting. We want the danged application fixed for the love of... checksums. We like it, but we don't like bugs.

Here's an idea. You've announced a "major" update that you're working on. Drop that shit. Fix the bugs in the current released version instead of trying to both introduce new features and fix existing bugs at the same time. It won't work anyhow (you don't have time for it - it's been a year). Quality software is distinguished from the rest by this simple fact: Bugs are fixed before the introduction of new features.

So pretty please, with sugar on top, fix the damned application!

The forums are working fine... The site works decent (nothing you can't do because of the errors)... There are no bugs in people's sigs...

Where in the world are you coming from? There must be a www.big-o-software.com that I don't know about in a parallel universe.

Brian is hardly members. I mean he is awesome... but you still can't count him as two people (sorry Brian) (BTW I thought you were talking about hkSFV go figure).

I still would like to know where exactly the huge problem is though, othen then updates in a time fashion you can deal with...

BTW Most (if not all) of the errors in Brian's sig can be blamed on the host, or simply a lousy load on the page (since IE sucks).

I'm sorry if I have more faith then you, but that's just the way things go... If moderators can't have faith then who can?

It's simply that it's full of (annoying) bugs, that "never" gets fixed. I mean... you must admit that there's bugs in hkSFV, or..?

I'm not saying there are not bugs in it at all. I know there are bugs. I also believe if Ryan wanted to he could today release a version with all the known (or most) of the bugs fixed, but he would rather deliver a version with all the bugs fixed, and with new features in it.

I just feel that people sometimes go over the edge and they simply because they don't understand what is going on...

well, i used to watch the forum regularly for updates of hksfv (until i realized there ARE not updates). in that time, i saw plenty (confirmed) bug reports, which i wouldn't consider minor bugs.
i simply agree with masken that hksfv's update policy isn't appropriate to keep its users statisfied. i prefer to have more minor updates (and bugfixes!) than few big updates (which leads to the fact that it takes too long until bugs are fixed).
and regarding the "www.big-o-software.com that I don't know about in a parallel universe": the only thing this page display is "be right back..".

Perhaps you know something that the rest of us don't know, but last time I checked that's not a bug... That's the page being changed so the normal everyday user can't access the page.

I guess all I can suggest is if you don't like the way that hkSFV is updated I'm sure there must be something bigger and better.

PhaseDMA, I don't think neither the coders of hkSFV or it's users agree with you, I'm sorry to say.

And there's more than "just a few bugs that's not critical" in hkSFV. It's for example unusable with WinXP SP1 if you don't have administrative rights and the application is installed by an administrator (the shelladdon looks for the wrong registry keys).

I do think some of my comments although have merit, but all of the posts in this thread were quite harsh, if they even had any merit.

However what you did mention is not really a bug with hkSFV, but rather the installer that is used. Ryan mentioned this somewhere else, and I have no clue where though (This was in regards to AIM+ but he said it had to do with all his programs, so that would of course include hkSFV).
