The picture that first comes up when AIM+ is first installed shows you -- the system menu in the buddy list menu.

hey it was kind of confusing installing aim+. i think you should mention in the readme to exit out of aim if you are curently using it, otherwise, you won't be able to see the menu if you want to change other things. anyway, just wanted to share my two cents.

AHA! *falls over* after (not much) thinking...I've got it! You have to use the aim+ shortcut to start aim instead of the regular aim shortcut. Well...that solved that.

Some users have been confused about what they should do after they've installed AIM+ - the installer/Readme/FAQ will be very clear in the next release about just how it works.

AIM+ is a loader for AIM - After you've installed it, you need to shutdown AIM completely (exit, obviously, not just sign off), and run AIM+ instead of AIM. Unfortunately, in the current version there are not any error messages if you run AIM+ while AIM is running - it simply exits silently. If you have AIM starting with windows (using the settings within AIM), however, AIM+ should automatically start instead.

ahhh.. I finally found it too... go to a instant message someone and look at the menu at the top of the message. At the far right of it should be an "AIM+" menu.

You can access the features of AIM+ in two ways. The first is the the way mentioned in the above post - AIM+ adds menu items to the menu of every IM window.

The second way is through thesystem/window menu of the AIM Buddy List. This is the small icon to the left of the title bar.

When you start AIM+ for the first time, a dialog box explaining the second method of using AIM+ is shown, with a large, explanatory picture, and text. I do what I can to make it intuitiv, knowing that people just blindly click past dialogs, even when using brand-new sofware, but if you do... well, you probably aren't bothering to read this anyway.. :)

To make AIM+ more accessible, in the next release, an AIM+ button has been added in the Today/Away/Prefs row ... you can still make this row go away, including the AIM+ button, it will just be there if you need it :).
