yeah... about those dots unders peoples names... and the newbe title and such.. when do those change? i know plasma just upgraded from "vetrin" to "Extreme Groupie" when do you change and what makes you change?

those 'dots' and rankings are post-incorporated.

In other words, you can supposedly tell how much of an AIM+ addict someone is by their number of posts. As you post up to a certain #, your ranking may change. Aparently the "Extreme Groupie" number was set somewhere around 170 or close to it.

The number thta you have to reach before being upgraded can be set by the admin of the board. (ryan)...... maybe the moderator, but i dunno. (mark)

on a lighter note....

the admin can set any special ranks he wants.

If you look at his name, he set himself up as "Developer". He could assign anyone a specific name is he wanted.

IE:; he could set me as "Is An F*in Genius!" if he wanted, or "Is Pissed At The World"......... lol

Oh YEAH...... and also..... some people just like to abuse this ranking system and just try to post a lot of CRAP (*ahem*) about nothing just to get their post number higher and try to get a high rank.... i think thats pretty stupid..... the board isnt a CHATROOM.....

im not naming any names though........

I meant to post and congratulate Plasma2002b on being the first to reach 4 dots.

Beaten to the punch, though (in another thread i saw, as well).

I think that means it's time to add another dot or two, and come up with some more rank names..

I changed most of the ranking titles, and users now start with 0 dots (and you can get up to 5).

The rankings, in order, are:

Just Registered
Newbie
Addict
Veteran
Extreme Groupie

We also have the Moderator and Developer 'special ranks.'

The ranking names and post requirements have occasionally changed as the board has grown, and may eventually be altered again in order to keep everything fresh and fun

But what about that fifth dot? "Just Registered" people have no dots.

I could spam the board with about 500 posts to the same topic just to see (if indeed I can get enough before they get deleted), but I think thet'll get me kicked out. I'm onlt about 100 posts behind plasma...maybe I could to it!
