Questions on AIM+ and upgrading and history

I'm on 4.8 2790 aim and 2.2.1 build 65 if aim+.
Are there any other aim programs that can use the history info that my current setup has? I'd like to get a newer version of AIM, but from what I read on here, the newer versions cause trouble with AIM+.
Any advice?

I don't want to loose my OLD coversations from the history file. I do a lot of business and have many conov's in the history feature...

go into your history directory (c:\program files\aim+\aim+ history\) and just copy all those folders to somewhere like My Documents
they are your IM conversations. HTML documents that can be read on any computer you put them on
save those on a cd if you like

Do you recommend any other program that works as well as AIM+?
It seems I can RARELY direct connect anymore. I think it's because most people have AIM 5+ and it won't connect with 4 versions.....

Most would recommend Middle Man. A few also say Trillian. It's your choice.

I've done some testing and I can't direct connect with people anyone like I used to. I downloaded AIM 5+ and can direct connect everytime, but I don't want to use 5+ since I can't get my history.
Is this what happens with you run 4.8 and everyon else has 5+? You can't direct connect?

just get deadaim, aim+ sux, its way out of date
