on the old old versions of aim, you could drag the regular "aol instant messenger" pic off and the teams pic would be therex Wasted Mind x wrote:Looky what I found!!
If you use an image smaller than the one provided...it will show partially on the login image screen.
So I had an idea. Delete the resource. and it defaulted to the image you see below.
It's the AOL/ AIM Team!!

Yes, you can change anything you want in there. Also, rather than trying to take a screenshot and crop it, use Alt+PrintScreen to take a screenshot of the active window. I can see a background window in your screenshot.
Those other things are Bitmap resources, so the replacement has to be a bitmap. The buttons are in bitmap. Almost all the bitmaps are buttons. The "Screen Name" image is Bitmap\252. In AIM 5, the background for the buddy list is BITMAP\273
You can change the menu text in MENU. Some of the menus aren't used. For instance, MENU\105 is the menu for the Log Manager that isn't implemented. Accellerators contains all the shortcut keys. You can change them as you please.

Thanks a lot.
One more question I think. What about the links that the buttons go to (ex: List of Content Panels links, AIM Today button [that I'd like to change to take me somewhere else], Read mail that I don't use I'd also like to change). Is that getting furthur into the coding etc? When I tried to change the company info and stuff yesterday, just to see if it could be done, I had to reinstall AIM because there was an internal service error.

You can't change what the buttons do. You can only change their images. If you want to change what they do, I imagine you'd have to hex the exe. Always back up the file before every save. Sometimes reshack won't save it right and it won't work. That way you won't have to reinstall if it screws up.Ciph3r wrote:Thanks a lot.
