password steal??

my friend said that AIM+ logs all of the passwords on sign-on, so that the creaters of AIM+ can steal the passwords.

is this true? or was he just trying to scare me??

Nope.

I've already got my own AIM login and password, and it works just great. I really have no need yours, or anybody elses..

Although that's probably the best argument I can give to soothe your paranoid soul, a few more points might help:

- By now, I've simply put too much work into AIM+ to be stealing passwords - there are far easier ways.
- Thousands of people have downloaded AIM+, and been enjoying it for over 5 months now.
- I've put a lot of effort into building a resourceful, professional website (including these forums) to support the software - with a degree of attention not typically given to free software. I'm trying to build something here, whether it is a reputation or simply a precedent, I don't much care - but screwing people over is definitely not part of my vision.

did that just sound gay to anyone else? it did? good. unless someone has a grudge against you most hackers cant be arsed to mess with your AIM password and even then its not very "1337".

and as for AIM+, i seem to be the only one using my name. i think your friend is full of it (read: lamer).
