Hmm... well as a college student, I realy don't earn money, more like I spend it on tuition... But, when I do get a chance, I've been able to get some performing gigs in a couple local orchestras. I also am one of the PSU School of Music Student Recording Engineers, so I make a couple bucks r...

I also notic a lot of the names over there bitching about charging for DeadAIM are the same people who bitch over here when AIM+3.0 was canceled. Yeah, I've noticed that too... Though, I've never bitched at either of the two parties, because I'm gratetful that they were even willing to share their ...

Oh...sorry. This fell off of my priority list for a while. I've been really busy with finals and I'm about to move. I've been spending my free time with my history viewer, but neither is going to get any attention for about a week cause my computer is going to be at my other house and for the most ...

you can't install knoppix, that's the point of it, it runs totally off the CD... I mean I guess you can just take the entire CD and copy it to the HD, but you won't have a root user or anything like that, plus they don't give you any of the passwords. Knoppix is only great for testing Linux. go her...

Um, if those two pages were supposed to give pop-up ads I didn't get any.... I use Adshield. http://www.adshield.org I highly recommend it. However, it only works in IE. It also blocks any inframe ads and Flash 5/MX ads. But not Flash 6  . However, with some things, if your window closes for n...

The only issue with laptops and Linux is that many laptops used more specialized hardware than desktop computers, and there's not Linux drivers for some laptop graphics hardware and modems, especially. But that was more of an issue years ago, not any more, so if you get a fairly common distro, you ...

Suse used to have the same thing, I don't know if they do anymore though. Personally, I'd go for a full-fledged distro...most are free or available for next to nothing. Buy a cheap second hard drive from a friend or at a local store or off eBay (something around 10-15GB would be very fine, and that...

I always love it when computer software gives you error codes, yet the developers don't really tell anyone what they mean. I remember in Mac System 7 when you'd get alerts that spit out a number like that, and you had to check a big compendium to find out what the hell was wrong with your computer....
